The other evening we saw this White-tail buck following the trail of a doe.

We don’t see many bucks this far down the mountain. All summer long they are up high frolicking with the elk. He’s got four tines on each antler so he’s pretty old.
He was heading down to the creek, trying to ensure the beginning of next years’ fawns. He’s a bit premature, if you pardon the expression. It’s too early for breeding season as far as most of the does are concerned.
