So, instead we had our picnic lunch at the kitchen table.  It was delicious.<\/p>\n<p>By afternoon the snow died down and the temperatures went above freezing, not a lot above but above nonetheless.  We went for a three mile walk on the main road, down by the river.\u00a0  There were hardly any birds to be seen along the river or the road.\u00a0 The wind was still blowing quite hard; our hands and ears got very cold, but it was invigorating and we are both awake now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We woke up this morning to blowing snow and cold temperatures, and we decided that today would be a good day not to be out on the highways driving around looking for birds.
