It spins around.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Next step is to get the skein of yarn onto the swift.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3512\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3512\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3512\" title=\"dec17-silk3\" src=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk3.jpg 650w, https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk3-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3512\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Once the skein was straightened out and snugly situation on the swift, i had to cut the white strings which were holding the skein in place for dyeing.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I discovered I have more than two yarn ends, which means there are some breaks but it doesn&#8217;t really matter since I won&#8217;t be spinning one continuous long qiviut thread anyway, since it has to be plied the day it is spun.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3513\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3513\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3513\" title=\"dec17-silk4\" src=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk4.jpg 650w, https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/dec17-silk4-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3513\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Then I can start transferring the silk yarn from the skein to the bobbin.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Another break, this one caused by me somehow.\u00a0 Rats, but oh well, there&#8217;s enough yarn on the bobbin for several days (at least) of spinning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My silk yarn arrived.
