foccacia bread made without wheat or gluten<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Tomorrow we want to go see some Sandhill Cranes dancing and carrying on, and other migratory waterfowl.\u00a0 I wanted some bread on which to make sandwiches, and decided to try the recipe I found online for foccacia.\u00a0 This is the results of my baking immediately after I took it out of the oven.\u00a0 It has rosemary leaves in the bread, and olive oil, salt, finely diced green peppers, sliced tomatoes, and a few thin slices of onion on one loaf.\u00a0 It is a totally delicious bread, and hopefully will make great sandwiches tomorrow.\u00a0 Dan thought that the tomato should be on the inside of the loaf.\u00a0 I suppose so, but artistically I liked this plan.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also making a pot of black bean chili so that I can put it into a thermos for a warm addition to our lunch tomorrow.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_346\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-346\" class=\"size-full wp-image-346\" title=\"blackbeanchili\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/blackbeanchili.jpg\" alt=\"Simmering on the stove\" width=\"460\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/blackbeanchili.jpg 500w, https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/blackbeanchili-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/blackbeanchili-300x298.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-346\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simmering on the stove<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_348\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-348\" class=\"size-full wp-image-348\" title=\"banana-nut\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/banana-nut.jpg\" alt=\"Bananas, pecans, and a sugar\/cinnamon topping\" width=\"460\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/banana-nut.jpg 500w, https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/banana-nut-300x247.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-348\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bananas, pecans, and a sugar\/cinnamon topping<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Chili and sandwiches, along with a pot of tea and some banana\/nut muffins, should all combine to make for a delicious picnic lunch.\u00a0 The muffins is also a new recipe to try, using mainly brown rice flour, with tapioca flour and cornstarch, plus the usual rest of the ingredients for normal muffins made with wheat.\u00a0 They certainly smelled wonderful baking, and hoping they taste as good.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday we went for a walk down by the river and saw a returning Western Bluebird.\u00a0 They haven&#8217;t made it up the hill to our house, but the first ones are in the neighborhood.\u00a0 It is spring!!!\u00a0 Even though it doesn&#8217;t look like it at our house, and the below zero temperatures we had early in the week definitely made it seem like mid winter.\u00a0 We&#8217;re glad we went down yesterday since it has been snowing and blowing and generally looking winter-ish all day today.\u00a0 It may be a very cold picnic tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The insurance company wanted pictures of our house, for no known reason, but their wish is our command.
