I thought perhaps she was considering a dirt bath, but the dirt was a little bit too wet for such activity.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_2032\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/10\/bluegrouse4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2032\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2032\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/10\/bluegrouse4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2032\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Delicate sculptured feathers.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_2033\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/10\/bluegrouse5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2033\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2033\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/10\/bluegrouse5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"504\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2033\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Very calm, surveying the sidewalk and then wandering off through the brush and up the driveway.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We see these birds every fall since we moved here, but not at other times of year.\u00a0 They are probably at the higher elevations.\u00a0 The only other place we&#8217;ve seen these is in the high Cascade mountains.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we had a Blue Grouse visiting our front yard (the Dusky Grouse sub species.)\u00a0 Such a pretty bird!
