Those aren&#039;t speckles on the camera lense because I was standing under the roof overhang.  <\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1545\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/stillsnowing1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1545\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1545\" title=\"stillsnowing1\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/stillsnowing1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1545\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Serviceberry blossoms are probably used to such nonsense.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It was a good thing we had covered up the construction materials which were delivered yesterday.\u00a0 They would have been very soaked.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1546\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/stillsnowing2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1546\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1546\" title=\"stillsnowing2\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/stillsnowing2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1546\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It kept this up all night, and this morning we had snow sliding off the roofs.  It didn&#039;t accumulate except on the roof.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This morning Dan found a poor frozen hummingbird laying on the sidewalk.\u00a0 This sort of weather is very tough on the small animals, especially something as tiny as a hummingbird.\u00a0 Lots did make it through the night and we&#8217;ve already had to refill a feeder or two so far today.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1548\" style=\"width: 345px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1548\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1548\" title=\"sidewalk4\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1548\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The sidewalk follows the ground contour down near the garage, curving around one of the two large trees between the house and the garage.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1549\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1549\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1549\" title=\"sidewalk3\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1549\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Where the yard flattens out there is a fork in the road.  <\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1550\" style=\"width: 345px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1550\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1550\" title=\"sidewalk2\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1550\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Straight ahead leads to the new sunroom door, and a low deck off the door where the wood rack will sit.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1552\" style=\"width: 345px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1552\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1552\" title=\"sidewalk1\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/sidewalk11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1552\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Curving around to the right is the front door.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The sidewalk leads to the newly constructed concrete front porch.\u00a0 Hurray, no more untreated wood boards just waiting to break someday, and no place for a packrat to hide under the porch.\u00a0 And no place for a snowshoe hare to hide either.\u00a0 Poor little things.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1553\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/floorjoists.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1553\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1553\" title=\"floorjoists\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/floorjoists.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1553\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Large beams are under the floor joists to support the weight.  We are going to have marble tiles for the flooring, travertine actually is what the type of marble is called, and it doesn&#039;t like floors that flex.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Inside the house we have a happy parrot.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1554\" style=\"width: 480px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/wetagain.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1554\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1554\" title=\"wetagain\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/wetagain.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"470\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1554\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">She doesn&#039;t mind having her picture taken while she&#039;s in her bath.  Sucn an exhibitionist!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It appears that Mishkin has decided to revise his &#8216;catch and release&#8217; program.\u00a0 He caught a mouse overnight and it didn&#8217;t get far at all before he killed it.\u00a0 Good kitty!!!\u00a0 He&#8217;s been keeping a beady eye on the contractors today.\u00a0 He sits by the bottom of the stairs and growls at them.\u00a0 They left in the middle of the day, for a while, to go pick up different floor joists as they had ordered the wrong size.\u00a0 Math &#8211; any one?<\/p>\n<p>After they leave, Mish runs around the house, making circles and just delighted they are gone.\u00a0 So am I, to tell the truth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yeah&#8230;.\u00a0 That will teach me to mock Mother Nature.\u00a0 Or, maybe not.\u00a0 I seem to be a slow learner.
