{"id":1494,"date":"2010-04-08T13:49:19","date_gmt":"2010-04-08T21:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.wordpress.com\/?p=1494"},"modified":"2010-04-08T13:49:19","modified_gmt":"2010-04-08T21:49:19","slug":"sixteen-days-from-hummingbirds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/?p=1494","title":{"rendered":"Sixteen Days from Hummingbirds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At least that is what the calendar says.\u00a0 Hopefully they packed some flannel jammies for the cold nights!\u00a0 It has been a very cold month so far.<\/p>\n<p>April 5th we woke up to a very heavy, wet and thickly falling two inches of snow.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1495\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/april5th-10-snowfall.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1495\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1495\" title=\"april5th-10-snowfall\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/april5th-10-snowfall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1495\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Solar gain?  Nah, just taking the day off from power production.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>That day was very gray, and even though the snow didn&#8217;t last very long, it was sure a surprise to wake up and see everything white again outside the windows.<\/p>\n<p>This time of year the morning sky can be exceptional with sunrise saturated views.\u00a0 Yesterday was a good example.\u00a0 The colors in the sky remind me of this new yarn I just acquired without a real specific project in mind but just because I loved the colors.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1497\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/morningsky.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1497\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1497\" title=\"morningsky\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/morningsky.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1497\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sunlight illuminating high light clouds while we were still in the mountain shadow, and super saturating the distant sky.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This morning the snow continued to fall, turning the ground white albeit only briefly, and filling the air with snowflakes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1498\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/april8th-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1498\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1498\" title=\"april8th-10\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/april8th-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1498\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Absolutely pouring, so thick it actually accumulates on the ground.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1499\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/blurry-snoflakes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1499\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1499\" title=\"blurry-snoflakes\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/blurry-snoflakes.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"520\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1499\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I really need super high speed to catch the fat and speedy flakes.  They are very blurry.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1500\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/cold-daffy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1500\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1500\" title=\"cold-daffy\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/cold-daffy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1500\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Our daffodils poked their heads up above ground and said, collectively, &quot;You&#39;ve GOT to be kidding!!&quot; and they haven&#39;t grown an inch since then.  This morning&#39;s snowfall, pictured here, has done nothing to encourage them.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Our local pet bunny is turning to his summer coat rapidly.\u00a0 This picture was taken over the weekend, and already only a few days later he&#8217;s almost entirely brown, except for his feet which remain snow white.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure he can&#8217;t believe the snow keeps falling, either.\u00a0 It interferes with finding yummy short green grass to munch.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1502\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/half-brown.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1502\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1502\" title=\"half-brown\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/04\/half-brown.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1502\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yummmmmmmmmmmm  green grass and invisibility.
