Of course, we aren&#8217;t seeing much sunshine during the day; we&#8217;ve been in the clouds or under the clouds for several weeks now.  A couple of days ago the clouds went away right as the sun was setting and we got a very pretty sunset.  I was playing with the zoom lense on the camera, and seeing how it intensifies the colors in the sky.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1384\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/jan15-sunset3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1384\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1384\" title=\"jan15-sunset3\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/jan15-sunset3.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1384\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Looking south west, the sun still is setting more in the south than in the west and it seems like each time we actually see it setting, the has moved more across the sky and heading north along the west horizon.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1385\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/jan15-sunset2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1385\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1385\" title=\"jan15-sunset2\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/jan15-sunset2.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1385\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Zoomed in a bit from the last view, and the pink is more vivid.  I liked the contrast between the sky and the branches on the Ponderosa Pine next to our front deck.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_1386\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/jan15-sunset.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1386\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1386\" title=\"jan15-sunset\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/jan15-sunset.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1386\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Now the rose color is the most intense, and the landscape really disappears in the bottom of the picture.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s been snowing here overnight and during the day, and our walkways are just going to be very treacherous to walk around on, with an inch on top of glare ice.\u00a0 Dan is going to go out to split firewood and I&#8217;m going to work on fixing the kitchen.\u00a0 It&#8217;s pretty messy.\u00a0 But it&#8217;s a good messy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1387\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/pecanrolls.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1387\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1387\" title=\"pecanrolls\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/01\/pecanrolls.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1387\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pecan Sticky Rolls, and they are very sticky.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I fixed some mashed sweet potatoes today, and one of my bread recipes uses mashed sweet potatoes and chopped fresh cranberries as a combination.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to make that today after I clean up the present mess.\u00a0 Should be interesting, and it should be very healthy with that particular combination.\u00a0 I definitely need to make up for pecan sticky rolls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The days are noticeably longer now, almost a month past the Winter Solstice.
