He&#39;s munching a mouthful of needles.  That is what Spruce Grouse eat, and last time we looked, he isn&#39;t one of those. He can&#39;t see me... can he?&quot;  One can almost see the two brain cells connecting.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>While subtle evidence of global warming is lurking in the front yard, inside our house another drama was played out.\u00a0 This morning when we woke up, Mishkin swore up one side and down the other that there was a mouse in the shoes by the front door.\u00a0 Dan moved shoes around and shook them, and no mouse appeared.\u00a0 So we disputed Mishkin&#8217;s claims of a mouse.<\/p>\n<p>An hour later, he was still insisting a mouse was lurking.\u00a0 He kept trying to climb into Dan&#8217;s boot but he didn&#8217;t fit.\u00a0 I picked up the boot and without thinking about it too hard&#8230;. \u00a0 In my defense, I assumed Mish was wrong about a mouse.\u00a0 My fingertips encountered a warm furry thing that squeaked, and I didn&#8217;t drop the boot!\u00a0 I did set it down quickly, complimented Mish on the accuracy of his report, and then handed the boot to Dan for mouse removal.\u00a0 It was his boot, after all!\u00a0 He took it outside and whacked it several times on the deck, and out flew a mouse.<\/p>\n<p>All is well that ends well, right?\u00a0 Depends on your point of view.\u00a0 Mish was most annoyed that the mouse got away.\u00a0 But he did his job, the mouse is out of the house, and I didn&#8217;t get bit.<\/p>\n<p>The evening sky was interesting as the sun was setting today; high overcast and no visible sun, except that the clouds were painting the world in a rosy purple glow.\u00a0 It was just amazing looking during the brief time it lasts.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1267\" style=\"width: 244px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/rosyglow.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1267\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1267\" title=\"rosyglow\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/rosyglow.jpg?w=234\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/rosyglow.jpg 391w, https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/rosyglow-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1267\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It does this every now and then, and each time it is surprising.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It was a little dark to be trying to take a picture and everything is a bit out of focus.\u00a0 But the worst thing of all, from a bunny perspective, is that they are still every bit as visible against a rose background as they are against a brown background.<\/p>\n<p>All day I&#8217;ve been working on getting my lace knitting program onto my computer, and it slow going.\u00a0 I THINK I&#8217;ve gotten the bottom border done properly, but I may be wrong and I&#8217;m a bit too cross-eyed to look at it more today.\u00a0 It will be very cool when it is on my computer, hopefully before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1275\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/knitting-continues.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1275\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1275\" title=\"knitting-continues\" src=\"http:\/\/mtnmacaw.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/knitting-continues.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/knitting-continues.jpg 500w, https:\/\/redmeadow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/knitting-continues-300x156.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1275\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bottom border, and the right side border are completed up to about row 685.
